Non-hormonal Treatment for Vaginal Atrophy Symptoms

husband-wife-happyAre you are in your forties, fifties, or sixties and experiencing symptoms related to low estrogen?  Do you have vaginal dryness or burning, painful intercourse, feel like you’re getting a urinary tract infection often (even though you’re not)?  Has the thought of taking supplemental estrogen kept you away from seeing the doctor?  Our newest service, MonaLisa Touch Chico, has relieved the symptoms of many women in our Chico community who suffer from these issues.

MonaLisa Touch is a simple, non-invasive, non-surgical set of treatments.  The first treatment takes about five minutes, then six weeks later we do it again, followed by a third treatment six weeks later.  Then, all it takes to continue seeing results is to come back for a “touch-up” appointment approximately every year.

During the treatment, we insert a safe CO2 laser into the vagina where it sends a gentle energy pulse into the layers of vaginal tissue.  The tissues react by regrowing collagen, blood vessels, and producing lubrication.  We also use the laser on the external genitalia (which is helpful for ladies with lichen sclerosus).  The vaginal tissues essentially “plump up” and are restored to their youthful state, relieving symptoms of vaginal atrophy.  In addition, women who have bladder incontinence, feel like they are constantly getting a UTI, or just feel like they have a “weak bladder” see drastic improvements in symptoms.  Ladies (and their husbands) are noticing huge improvements, and our patients are able to enjoy intercourse again!

As a completely non-hormonal treatment, MonaLisa Touch will NOT raise your estrogen levels.  It heals the vagina without estrogen, which is great for women who medically cannot take estrogen, or ladies who just don’t want to.

If you haven’t already scheduled your consultation, give us a call today!  MonaLisa Touch is completely safe, and our team will go over all the details and your questions during your consultation.
